Once a year the General Secretaries of the European National Ecumenical Councils meet for 4 days to explore a particular topic. In 2008 they studied the impact of migration on churches. The topic for 2009 was cooperation with Muslims. Across Europe the churches have very diverse experiences and understandings of secularization: from militant ‘anti-church’ to mutual respect and cooperation. This was the topic 2011. And 2012 they studied Church and Contemporary culture: Threat or Opportunity.
The AGCK particpates fully at these meetings being represented by its General Secretary.
